Rent a Human at Surrey’s City Centre Library!
The new $36-million Surrey City Centre Library which occupies some 77,000 sq ft will open on 24 Sept 2011 with a difference – humans can be rent out as “living books”! The LEED certified library, built by Bing Thom Architects, will also feature a computer learning centre, gaming area, meeting spaces and wi-fi access.

Under this local experts program, members of the public will be able to have a rostered one-on-one conversation with local experts (volunteers) such as a painter, war veteran or astronomer, etc. and ask everything that they want to know. The launch date and availability for this “Human Library” programme are still being determined and is expected to be available before the end of the year.
