The Hong Kong-based 10 Design team recently won the Library Design Competition to build a 55,400 m² public library in Dalian, China. Led by studio design partner Ted Givens, the 6 storey structure is described as a ‘transformative environment’ by the architect and features a large media centre which can operate for 24 hours a day. It also features a series of retail functions including a panaromic rooftop cafe and oversized window which looks out over the ocean.
